Job Description

Bethlehem Central School District is currently seeking applicants for a Video Production Contractor.

The Video Production Contractor must be a well-organized individual experienced in all areas of video production.  The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines. This position will work closely with the Superintendent and the BCSD communications office to plan and develop compelling video content relevant to our school community that reflects BC’s core values; academics, character, community, and wellness.

This role requires a high level of self-sufficiency and strong collaboration skills. The contractor must have their own equipment and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music, voice-over;

  • Capture B-roll for projects;

  • Occasionally film live events;

  • Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment;

  • Edit footage after recording;

  • Add computer graphics, closed captioning, and special effects to footage;

  • Operate camera, teleprompter, and other media tools during live shoots;

  • Color correct, edit, and prepare content for final delivery of media;

  • Lead set changes (camera, lighting, set assets, microphones, etc.);

  • Collaborate closely with the BCSD Superintendent and communications office to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content;

  • Establish and maintain project and production schedules;

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with AV equipment operation; sound systems, lighting, projectors

  • Experience live-streaming events

Job Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, communications or related field

  • Extensive experience creating videos from concept to completion; messaging, direction, set design, camera operation, sound, lighting, and editing with an emphasis on creative storytelling

  • Demonstrated expertise in tailoring video content for a variety of social media channels (such as websites, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X), with knowledge of platform-specific best practices and trends

  • Demonstrated ability to work within strategic guidelines to produce visually appealing video content that engages audiences

  • The ability to convey complex information through compelling, easy-to-digest video narratives
